Software for archiving und administration of NMR datasets
|
| |
|
By employing well-defined quality standards for archiving
and managing NMR data, analytical laboratories can fulfill
the guidelines for Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
|

The NMR Spectrometer: |
The Data ManagementSolution: |
| Data transfer via a network to a central server computer
is a convenient method for storing data while retaining
quick on-line access at the spectrometer or off-line access
for remote data processing and analysis.
However, since the amount of archived data grows
continuously and the capacity limit of the primary storage
device will be quickly reached, requiring the secondary
storage medium (permanent archive).
Although current archiving methods guarantee the secure
and accurate storage of data, they do not necessarily
provide the most economical mode of archiving or an easy way
to locate and recover individual files.
|
The archiving of spectroscope measurements and the
efficient management of archived data are of utmost
importance.
Frequently such measurements are part of research
projects, which extend over several years, requiring that
all data be maintained for analysis and comparison over this
time period. In many cases permanent storage of NMR data for
decades or longer is required for documentation purposes or
for the maintenance of the database.
In any event, of highest priority for research workers
and clients of analytical laboratories is the ability to
quickly find and recall individual data files.
These high quality standards can only be met by an
electronic archiving system which employs suitable software
for automating the archiving process, transferring the data
to a suitable, and managing the data in a logical and
rational manner.
